PDWP approves 21 schemes worth over Rs24.499b for KP sectors

Peshawar - The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Tuesday approved 21 schemes, with an estimated cost of Rs24,499.505 million, pertaining to sports & tourism, forestry, water, health, education, multi-sectoral development, roads, and DWSS sectors for the uplift of the province. 

The 18th meeting of the PDWP was held under the chairmanship of Shakeel Qadir, Additional Chief Secretary P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, through video link. The meeting was attended by members of the PDWP and concerned departments. 

The forum considered 24 schemes pertaining to sports & tourism, forestry, water, health, relief & rehabilitation, multi sectoral development, higher education, elementary & secondary education, roads, urban development and DWSS sectors for the uplift of the province. The forum approved 21 schemes with an estimated cost of Rs24,499.505 million. 03 schemes were deferred due to deficiencies in project documents/PC-I and were returned to the respective department for rectification. 

The details of schemes approved are as under: 

Sports & Tourism Establishment, up-gradation & Rehabilitation of Sports Facilities (AIP) Sub-Scheme: Upgradation/rehabilitation of Jinnah Stadium at Parachinar. 

Forestry Billion Tree Afforestation Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Phase-III. 

Water Construction and rehabilitation of flood protection works and irrigation channels in district Swabi (PSDP 2021-22).  Construction of Flood Protection Structures at Vulnerable locations on left and right banks for the protection of agricultural land/abadies at Badri Nullah District Swabi (PSDP 2021-22). 

Health Outsourcing of supply chain of medicines and supplies.  Extension of D-Talk and Insulin for Life.  Strengthening of 12 DHQ Hospitals (Building Capacity to respond Covid-19/Any future pandemic) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

Relief & Rehabilitation Purchase of Land/Construction of Rescue 1122 Stations & Blanace Works in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

Multi Sectoral Development Provision for Contractors Decretal accrued Liabilities, Land Compensation and Uncashed Cheques Sub-Scheme: Renovate Sensing Solution for Forest Change Detection in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  Multi Sectoral Development Special Development Package for backward areas of Tehsil Khwazakhela and adjoining Areas of District Swat. 

Higher Education-Establishment of 16 Government Colleges (boys & girls) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - (Phase-II) (Cost of land & Boundary Wall+ academic infrastructure) Sub-Scheme: Establishment of Government Degree College Khwaza Khela, District Swat. 

Establishment of 15 Government Colleges (boys & girls) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - (Phase-II) (Cost of land & Boundary Wall+ academic infrastructure) Sub-Scheme: GDC Charbagh, Swat 

Establishment of 15 government colleges (boys & girls) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - (Phase-II) (Cost of land & Boundary Wall+ academic infrastructure) Sub-Scheme: GDC Saidu Sharif, Swat. 

Establishment of 15 government colleges (boys & girls) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - (Phase-II) (Cost of land & boundary wall+ academic infrastructure) Sub-Scheme: 180621-9-GDC Pirbaba Gadezai Buner. 

E&SE - Provision of Free Text Books in Merged Areas (AIP.) 

Establishment of IT labs in high & higher secondary schools in Merged Areas (AIP). 

Roads - Karak Area Development Project (To be funded from 10% Oil and Gas Royalty) 

Sub-Scheme: Improvement/Widening Of Black Topped Road Karak To Banda Daud Shah Distt: Karak (17-km) 

Karak Area Development Project (To be funded from 10% Oil and Gas Royalty) Sub-Scheme: Improvement and Rehabilitation of Black Topped Road from Ahmad Abad to Alam Sheri (10-km).

Construction of Pir Baba Bypass Road & Pir Baba Kalabat Bypass Road, District Buner. 

DWSS - Construction of gravity based water supply schemes for Matta, Khwazakhela, Minglot, Bara & Kuza Bandai, Dureshkhela, Asharay and Charbagh, District Swat 

Urban Development -  Urban Policy & Planning Unit in FATA (Reg. Dev) (MA)
