2 vehicles recovered

ISLAMABAD - National Highways & Motorway Police have recovered two vehicles, which were stolen from different cities of the country and arrested two car-lifters by prompt action. As per details, Motorway Police was informed through NH&MP Help Line 130 from Lahore, that a white corolla car No. LEB-9008 had been stolen from Lahore. On this information, all the patrolling cars of NH&MP were got alerted. After few minutes, the Motorway Police officers observed the said car moving on M-1 near Swabi, which was stopped through commando action and two culprits Asif Ali, son of Arif Ali and Anjum Ali, son of Akbar Ali resident of Lahore were arrested. In another incident Motorway Police were informed by a Tracker Company that a Corolla car No LEG-765 had been snatched on gunpoint from Sheikhupura by three armed dacoits from a Professor of King Edward University. On this information, all the patrolling cars of NH&MP were got alerted. After few minutes, the Motorway Police officers observed the said car parked on the verge of Motorway (M-1) near Burhan with fake number plates, while no body was present in or around the car. Motorway Police officers took the car into their custody and informed the local police, which was in search of the absconders and also the owner of car Dr. Saeed Associate Professor King Edward University Lahore. Later on, the Motorway Police handed over the arrested lifters along with the recovered vehicles to the concerned local police for further legal action and investigation in the presence of the owners of cars. Inspector General of NH&MP Muhammad Raffat Pasha had appreciated the performance of officers who took part in these episodes.
