LAHORE - Pakistan U-14 football team showed class and commitment when they recorded 4-1 win over Sialkot U-14 team in practice match at Sialkot's Govt. Jinnah Islamia College Ground. The match was arranged in befitting manner by DFA Sialkot's Secretary General Zulqar Nain Bhatti in collaboration with College's staff in order to provide ample practice to Pakistan team who will face stiff rivals at Iran during AFC U14 Festival of Football next week. Pakistan dominated the game right from word go and could have scored in the 10th and 19th minute but striker Fazal Muhammad and defender Asif Waris saw their efforts went wide. Pakistan opened the scoring in the 27th minute through penalty-kick, converted by Abdul Waheed, who led Pakistan in AFC U13 Festival of Football at Dhaka last year. Striker Sher Muhammad doubled the margin four minutes later and Sialkot-born Hassan Khan made it 3-0 in the 33rd minute with dipping lob over advancing keeper. Sialkot reduced the margin in final minute of first half. The home team's striker Arsalan, nephew of Asian Cupper Qadeer Ahmed (KRL), went behind the defence and left keeper Yasir Ali bemused. Pakistan led 3-1 at interval during which both the teams were introduced to College's Principal Imtiaz Khaliq who distributed trophies, souvenirs to both teams. The representative of DFA Sialkot and ILO were also present on this occasion. The second session erupted another goal for Pakistan when speedy Khuzdar-born Fazal Muhammad made no mistake from another spot-kick seven minutes from time. The match was supervised by Muhammad Nawaz, supported on the line by Wasim Khan, Muhammad Asif.
