The impression so far created by the media that the government and the military establishment are not on the same page especially on the US operation in Abbottabad seems to have been widely dispelled by the rare troika meeting in Islamabad. It was being speculated the Zardari led government tried to ditch Pakistan Army and that there were differences over who should respond first. Taking first the responsibility of the shortcomings was a daring and wise step on part of the army and PAF, but the impression was given as if the COAS took the entire blame on his shoulders without mentioning the government's major share. Anyway harmony and unity amongst the three gentlemen is a good omen and now all eyes are on PM to clarify the matter in totality and entirety. F Z KHAN, Islamabad, May 8.
