islamabad - Pakistan Army has impliedly hinted that it would follow the instructions issued by the Chief Election Commissioner Justice (r) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim on reviewing the security plan for general polls.
“Despite very less reaction time for a change in finalised security plan, for which deployment of all LEAs (Law Enforcement Agencies) has already been completed and coordinated, in deference to the ECP (Election Commission of Pakistan) request, General Headquarters has ordered troops to modify and further strengthen their plans and affect deployment at the most sensitive polling stations to the extent possible,” said a brief military statement from the GHQ.
It added that that priority on military troops deployment at the most sensitive polling stations would be based on assessment from military, intelligence agencies and LEAs.
