islamabad - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Munawar Hassan on Thursday said that if masses with their votes help seizing the security of ‘some hundred families’ of the country a pleasant change could be possible as they were treating masses as slaves.

Addressing the last election campaign rally at G-7 area, the JI chief said these some hundred families with any of reference are enjoying power but the vote of masses can bring a pleasant change. “You seize the security of them we will automatically go toward revolution,” he said, addressing a charged public gathering, which continued shouted slogans in favour of both the Islamabad’s candidate of JI Mian Aslam and Zubair Farooq Khan.

Munawar Hassan said that election’s advertisement revealed their performances, which they deliver for the masses of country during last five years.

About former President Pervez Musharraf, JI chief said Musharraf should be treated like other criminals as he had many charges ranging from Akbar Bugti murder case, Jamiya Hafsa case etc. “We demand that Musharraf should be handcuffed and send to jail,” he added.

He came down hard on caretaker government saying that this government was not performing its duties. He also held responsible the caretaker government about kidnapping incident of Ali Haider Gilani in Multan. “Because of their dereliction this incident happened,” he added. 

About the Kashmir issue, he said that they mentioned the struggle for Kashmir issue in their manifesto and would make effort for it.

About manifesto, the JI chief said while political parties have presented their manifestos with plethora of claims but the actual manifesto of those factions that remained in power in previous five years is their performance.

Naming PPP, PML-Q, MQM and ANP, he said these parties enjoyed power during last five years but they deliver nothing for masses.

“They pushed the masses into quagmire of deprivation and this clearly reflect their manifesto,” said Munawar adding that target killing, lawlessness, poverty; load shedding are the hallmarks of these parties. Because of their poor policies, he said Pakistan is facing lot of issues.

About the JI’s manifesto, he said that they served for the affectees of earthquake and floods. “We strongly run Go-America-go campaign in last five year, as one should learn enmity of Muslim Ummah from America,” he maintained.

He said that the representations of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) had also remained in parliament but there was no stigma of corruption on them. About list issued from ECP, Munawar Hassan said even a single member of JI was not found in corruption case.

“We need revolution that could change the directions of life. All the rights should be provided without any discrimination and all it is possible with the implementation of Islamic system in the country,” said Munawar, adding that they (JI) would continue its efforts for the betterment of people.
