PESHAWAR - A policeman was killed when unknown armed men opened firing on him at Larama area on Friday.
Police sources said that some unidentified motorcyclists opened indiscriminate firing on a police constable at Larama area, when he was on way from home to his duty place. Resultantly, the 29-year-old constable identified as Ibrahim Khan, son of Mohammad Khan was killed on the spot. Soon after the incident, his dead body was shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital for medico legal formalities. Police launched a search operation to arrest the culprits involved in the incident. However, no arrest was made in this regard till filing of the report. Police registered an FIR against unknown attackers and started investigation.
Coordinator Taliban Committee Member Maulana Yousaf Shah said on Friday that the government is not serious in holding peace talks with Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). “The leadership of the TTP wants to initiate talks but the attitude of government towards peace process is not serious,” he said this while talking to the media in Peshawar .
He called upon both government and Taliban to show seriousness and immediately restart dialogue process so that durable peace could be restored in the country.  He said that they were in contact with the TTP Shura and hoped that peace talks would be restored soon.  He said that Maulana Samiul Haq held a meeting with Major (Retd) Amir the other day in this regard.
