Provincial Minister for Labour and Manpower, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has urged the district government and health department to work more efficiently to kill dengue larvae and adult mosquitoes.

He asked the district high-ups to constitute special committees comprising assistant commissioners and public elected representatives to monitor anti-dengue campaign. He asked the solid waste management department to lift the heaps of garbage to stop the growth of dengue mosquitoes.

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar expressed these views while chairing a weekly meeting held at Commissioner Office in connection with anti-dengue campaign. The meeting was attended by Commissioner Zahid Saeed, PML-N leader and Chairman Pakistan Green Task Force Dr Jamal Nasir, DCO Sajid Zafar Dall, EDO Agriculture Shahid Sajjad, ACs, EDO (health), managing director Solid Waste Management Rawalpindi Irfan Qureshi, MNAs and MPAs of PML-N and officials of district government.

The minister asked the ACs to brief him about the steps taken against dengue in their areas. He added that chief minister Punjab believed in concrete and result-oriented steps against dengue in the province and no negligence in this regard would be tolerated. “All the departments should work together to get rid of dengue,” Raja Ashfaq said.
