MULTAN - At least one worker was killed while two others seriously injured when a crane working on Multan Metro Bus project accidently touched high-power electricity lines overhead here at Vehari Chowk on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Shafqat, 22, resident of Sialkot, while the injured workers included Hakim Ali and Abdul Qayyum. Dozens of people gathered on the spot while the workers also suspended work, demanding safety measures at the workplace.
The Rescue 1122 personnel rushed to the spot and gave first aid to the victims of electric shocks but Shafqat succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The injured were rushed to Nishtar Hospital where their condition is stated to be precarious.
