The Punjab and Sindh police in collaboration with Rangers have chalked out a comprehensive combined action plan (CAP) for clearing the riverbed kacha areas from terrorists and dacoits. In this regard important decisions were made during a meeting among the Punjab and Sindh police officials and Rangers officials regarding the operation against dacoits. It was decided to continue operation till the elimination of last dacoit from the area and for the purpose the police and Rangers will be equipped with helicopters, armoured vehicles and modern weapon.
According to details, the government has decided to clear riverbed kacha areas. To evolve a plan for the purpose, high-ups of the Sindh and Punjab police and Rangers held a special meeting to prepare Combined Action Plan which was presided over by Bahawalpur RPO Ehsan Sadiq and Sukkar DIG Kamran Fazal while DPO Rahim Yar Khan Sohail Zafar Chattha, Rajanpur DPO Zahid Mehmood Gondal, Gandapur Ranger’s Wing Commander Colonel Habib Ahmad, Lt Col Asim and other officials also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, a comparison was drawn between manpower of the police and dacoits and a workable plan of action was compiled with mutual consent to make the operation against the outlaws successful.
It was decided in the meeting that action against the outlaws would be taken both from ground and air which helicopters, armoured vehicles, modern weapons and other modern technology provided by the Interior Ministry will be utilized.
The high-up of police and Rangers decided that the operation will continue in these areas until the desired results were achieved. The participants were also informed that population in the surroundings had been directed to leave the area for specific time to avoid civilian casualty during the operation.
