BAHAWALPUR(staff reporter/Monitoring): The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday claimed to have foiled a big terror attempt and arrested five terrorists of an outlawed organisation near Sutlej Bridge here on Monday. The CTD also recovered five bombs, explosive material, arms and ammunition from the terrorists.

The CTD sources informed that acting on a tip-off, the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) conducted an operation near Sutlej Bridge. During the operation, the lawmen managed to arrest five terrorists, belonging to a defunct organisation. The sources claimed that the outlaws were engaged in planning terror attacks in Bahawalpur and surroundings.  Though the CTD did not disclosed identity of the terrorists, the sources, however, claimed that they were identified as Usman, Nauman, Abdul Hameed, Sikander ilyas and Mohibullah. The CTD shifted the terrorists to an undisclosed location for investigation.
