FAISALABAD-Renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil on Monday urged the nation to develop and promote truthfulness, forgiveness, tolerance, honesty, respects for others, high ethical values and ironing out differences in line with teachings of Quran and Sunnah.

He delivered a public lecture at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad which was presided over by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad. The lecture was arranged by Senior Tutor Office.

Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Tariq Jamil stressed the need for setting aside differences being made in the name of sect, race, politics and bilingual division etc. While terming lies a death, he said that telling lies has become a common practice in the society which is not only aggravating social problems but also adding up to the sins. He lamented that instead of following Quran and Sunnah, worship of wealth, power, respects and money have taken roots in the society and “we have minimized tawakul in Allah Subhanhotallah.” He urged the students to give due respects to their parents, relatives, and teachers.  He showed his concern that despite obtaining higher degrees, many people are unaware even with the basic knowledge of Islam.

He said it is not only the fault of teachers but also of the students. He also criticized the educational system for unskilled manpower. He showed his concern that medical is a sacred profession which has turned into a business. He said that anger, and miser are the weapon of Satan so be soft, nice, and helpful for others.

Talking about brotherhood, he called for flourishing the culture of love and brotherhood in the society right from the homes, offices and other places. He said that life of last and final prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) is the practical example of holy Quran and give us complete guideline in every sphere of life.  He added that the unity and the care for others as per line with Quran and Seeratun Nabi will help the address the different issues facing the Muslim Ummah. He urged the Muslims to be united and repent on their sins. “If we follow in the footprint of last and final messenger Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW), we will able to get respect and Nijat at the Day of Judgment and in the world.
