LAHORE : Fuel supply to planes yesterday remained suspended at Allama Iqbal International Airport due to maintenance of tanks, said an officer of PIA.

He stated Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had issued warning to all airlines to manage their fuel from other destinations because of maintenance of fuel tanks at the Lahore airport. Sources in CAA said cracks had developed in tanks after an earthquake in the city in near past. The Pakistan State Oil (PSO) management was repairing fuel tanks placed underground at apron site.  A PIA officer claimed only one flight out of more than 100 flights operating to and from the Lahore airport daily was affected by the suspension of fuel supply. The supply remained suspended from 9am to 10pm.
