KARACHI - At least six people, including a gangster and a cop were killed in separate incidents here on Saturday.
An alleged gangster was shot dead near Garam Chashma in Manghopir locality.
The victim was identified as Jahangir aka Baba, 30. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to his family. Police officials said the victim was associated with the Sheraz Comrade group of Lyari gangsters. He was recently shifted to Manghopir locality from Lyari. They said the victim was standing near his home when some unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle shot him dead.
Similarly, Raaz Muhammad, 30, was shot dead in Islamia Colony area of Pirabad. Police officials said the victim was sitting near his home when some armed men riding a motorcycle shot him dead over unexplained reasons. Further investigation was underway.
Separately, a youth was found dead near Northern Bypass. He was yet to be identified. Police officials said the victim was killed after kidnapping. Several marks of torture were also found on his body. The body was moved to morgue for identification after medicolegal formalities at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
In another incident, Taj Muhammad, 55, was found dead inside his house in Baldia area. Police officials said the victim was killed with some sharp material on his head by unidentified persons. Police said Taj hailed from Swat and might have been killed over personal enmity. Further investigation was underway.
A sub-inspector Ameen Baloch, 35, was shot dead in Orangi Town’s Faqir Colony. The victim was posted to the Security Zone and was the resident of same area. Police said he was returning home after buying fruits when at least two armed men riding a motorcycle targeted him. He died on the spot. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to his family. No case has been registered.
In another incident of firing at the tobacco shop at MPR Colony within the jurisdictions of Orangi Town police station. Police said the gunmen riding a motorbike sprayed bullets at a shop which left Jabeen Gull and his brother Saeed Gull wounded. The culprits managed to flee while the victims were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced the death of Jabeen and admitted his brother with critical wounds. Police suspected personal enmity the reason behind the attack.
