Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah has arrived in Islamabad for wide ranging talks with Pakistani leadership.
Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid received the visiting dignitary at the airport.
He will hold talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday and MoUs to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields will also be signed.
President Mamnoon Hussain will host a dinner reception for the foreign dignitary at the Presidency on Sunday.
The interaction between the business community of Pakistan and Kuwait is also expected during the visit to explore further avenues for bilateral cooperation in trade.
Official sources say the visit of Kuwaiti Prime Minister will give a new impetus to the existing cordial bilateral relations. It will also provide a good opportunity to reinvigorate efforts aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields.
Foreign Office spokesperson Aziz Ahmed Chaudhary says that the visit carries special significance as it is taking place at a time when Pakistan and Kuwait are celebrating fifty years of establishment of their relations.
It is also the first visit by any top Kuwaiti leader to Pakistan in seven years.
