RAWALPINDI - A prayer leader was found dead mysteriously at a room of a local seminary on Saturday in RA Bazaar here.
The police arrested a 55-year old person, Muhammad Sadeeq, who was staying with the deceased in the room of Masjid Said at Gulshan-e-Zaheer in Tench Bhatta and is investigating him. The deceased was identified as Maulana Anwar Baig.
The local police Sub Inspector (SI) Abid Shah, who is also probing the case, said that three unknown robbers entered the seminary late Friday night. They tied both of them to a pillar then asked the Maulana to tell where he kept the money or else he would be gunned down.
The IO while quoting the arrested person said that the Maulana identified the place and the robbers made off after collecting the money, which according to the police, were not more than Rs15,000. “The Maulana then asked Sadeeq to untie him and started shouting for help,” the IO said.
Meanwhile, he said, a person from the neighbourhood after hearing his shouts, opened the door and entered the room. He untied Sadeeq and when turned towards maulana he found him dead. The IO said that the police is waiting for the postmortem report to ascertain whether he died of heart attack, shock or was killed. 
“There is no mark of injury or torture on his body nor the police found finger prints,” he said. The police ruled out possibility any motive to fan sectarianism.
