SHEIKHUPURA (STAFF REPORTER): A team of the Livestock Department accompanied by the Saddr Police caught red-handed two butchers transporting donkey meat , weighing more than 80-kg, being supplied to Lahore near Chah Bhangwan on Sunday.

Following a tip-off, a team of the Livestock Department accompanied by the police intercepted a pick-up van going towards Lahore and seized donkey meat from it. During initial interrogation, two butchers namely Sattar and Ali Nawaz confessed that they had been supplying donkey meat to Lahore for the last several months. Further investigation is under underway.

ROBBED: A trader was deprived of his car and cash amounting to Rs30,000 on Sharqpur Road near Nazir Lubana on Sunday. According to detail, Sajid, a rice dealer was going to Sharqpur from city. Meanwhile three highway robbers intercepted him and robbed of the car and cash. The bandits also threw the trader on ground. Police started investigation.
