LAHORE - Participants of a conference have demanded announcement of health policy at federal and provincial levels, legislation for curbing the menace of quackery, ban on the sale of medicines without prescription and reconstitution of healthcare commission for making it functional.

Through unanimously approved resolutions on the concluding day of three day conference organized by Pakistan Medical Association, the participants demanded immediate measures to safeguard health and life of public at large.

President College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) Prof Zafarullah Chaudhry presided over the concluding session on Sunday. Experts from across the country read 71 papers. The organizers arranged 32 workshops on different subjects prior to the start of three day conference.
