ISLAMABAD - Wapda and Islamabad played out draw in their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (Gold) 2014-15, Fifth Round match played here Sunday. Wapda could score 101-33 when stumps were drawn on the 4th and final day in chase of 253 runs target for victory. Earlier, Islamabad resumed their second innings at the overnight score of 87-5. Thanks to a brilliant match saving Sarmad Bhatti’s knock of 83, Islamabad posted 219 all out in 73.2 overs. Shehzad took 4 for 74, Hamza 3 for 47. Defending champions Rawalpindi Rams were given a real bashing by SNGPL, who won the match by 9 wickets. SNGPL required 69 runs for victory, which they achieved in 12.1 overs losing just one wicket. Adnan Akmal remained unbeaten at 47. Earlier, Rawalpindi were bundled out for 97 in 33 overs. Asad Ali took 6 for 39.
