KARACHI: A huge cache of weapons was recovered on Thursday when law enforcement agencies raided a house in Old Clifton area.
Eight bags full of weapons were recovered from the house which include seven M4 rifles, six sub-machine guns, two 7mm rifles, two rifles, four 12-bore, one G3, one 222 rifle and two 9mm pistols, according to security sources.
LEAs also found two police caps and two daggers from the house.
The weapons belong to Nisar Morai, chairman Fisherman Cooperative Society, also known to be frontman for Pakistan People's Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, sources said.
Morai was also released on bail on October 17 in former chairman Steel Mill Sajjad Hussain’s murder case.
Sources said that police had been pressurised from publicising this news. Police registered a case in Boat Basin Police Station against unidentified persons.
Moreover, the place where weapons were recovered has been registered as a dumpyard.
