Lahore - The 140th birthday of Allama Muhammad Iqbal was marked with traditional zeal Thursday.

A change of guard was held at the Iqbal’s mausoleum in the morning.

A contingent of Pakistan Navy took guards duties from Punjab Rangers.

Navy Lahore Station Commander Commodore Sajid Mehmood Shahzad was the chief guest on the occasion that laid a floral wreath over the great philosopher poet’s grave and offered Fateha.

Government and non-government organisations organised special sitting to mark the day.
