Lahore - The speakers at an NPT event paid tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

NPT Chairman Muhammad Rafique Tarar in his message said Iqbal’s poetry paved way for Pakistan. Vice Chairman Dr Rafique said Iqbal made the Muslims realise that their ideology could provide them whatever they wanted.

“The economic perspective of life was so wisely stressed by Iqbal that now it was up to us to find solutions to our problems in the right of Iqbal’s ideas,” he added.

Justice (r) Nasira Javid Iqbal said she was proud of being a member of Iqbal’s family.

She stressed the need for following the philosophy of Iqbal.

Prof Ataur Rehman, Dr Ajmal Niazi, Waleed Iqbal advocate, Dr Tahir Hameed Tanoli, NPT Secretary Shahid Rasheed and others also spoke on the occasion.  The sitting was organised by Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust in collaboration with the Tehreek-i-Pakistan Workers Trust.

Also, the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore organised a programme to pay homage to the services of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The event kicked off with recitation of Holy Quran, followed by students’ show of skits, poem and documentaries.  The function was jointly organised by the Public Relations Office, UET Tribune Society, Literary Society, Cyanide Hub and Department of Humanities.
