Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, the spokesman to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has said that the government is sacred of the opposition and is shying away from appointing the leader of opposition as Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman in the national assembly.

In a statement on Saturday, Senator Khokhar said that the rule of law reigns supreme in a strong parliament. PPP will continue to defend the parliament and democracy. PPP wants national issues to be addressed in the parliament. Political instability hurts the nation and the country, he added.

The senator urged that tolerance and decency in politics is needed. Every democratic party will have to play its role for the defense of parliament and democracy, he concluded.
