Sindh cabinet on Saturday has imposed restrictions on the purchasing new cars for three years.

Chief Minister Sayyed Murad Ali Shah said that he wanted to make a policy under which an officer of grade 17 would be provided with a car through lease and the officer himself will pay the amount in instalments. After the completion of instalments he will become the owner of the car while the maintenance of car will be also his responsibility, said CM's spokesperson.

Moreover, the Sindh cabinet approved the provision of the bulletproof vehicles to the governor, chief minister, chief justice, chief secretary, the interior minister, inspector general of police and two additional IGs of Sindh.

If a minister or official faces threat then he can be provided with a bulletproof vehicle after the approval of the cabinet, the spokesperson added.
