LAHORE-Foreign players breezed into the semifinals of the ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championships Leg-1 at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad on Wednesday. Due to rain, the matches started later than the scheduled time.
According to Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) press release, in the boys singles quarterfinals, Amir Asylkozhaev (RUS) beat Teetawat Tavachphongsri (THA) 6-1, 6-1; Imran Khaitbaev (UZB) beat Zaidh Zihar (SRI) 6-1, 6-3 and Bugra Ozkoc (TUR) beat Aarav Samrat Hada (USA) 6-3, 6-4. In the girls’ singles quarterfinals, Defne Yuksel (TUR) beat Polina Kaibekova (RUS) 6-1, 6-1 and Deren Ozel (TUR) beat Mandagalla Princy (IND) 7-6(5), 6-4.
In the boys’ doubles first round, Ibrahim Furkan Deniz/Imran Khaitbaev beat Kivanc Bedir/Matthew Goh 6-2, 7-6(2); M Zaryab Khan/Azat Sarsembaev beat Muhammad Salar/Asad Zaman 6-2, 6-4; Kou Fujikawa/Aki Zeben Rawat beat Bilal Asim/Abdul Hanan 6-2, 6-4; Mars Argun/Bugra Ozkoc beat Penn Charusorn/Teetawat Tavachphongsri 6-2, 6-2; Zaidh Zihar/Amir Asylkozhaev beat Sami Zeb/Mahatir Muhammad 6-4, 6-1.
In other boys doubles first round matches, Aryan Giri/Aarav Samrat Hada beat Muaz Malik/Kamonpanyakorn 6-3, 6-2; Huzaifa Khan/Talha Khan beat Pudit Phapatsirikul/Thanathip Poti 7-5, 6-4; Hamid Israr/Ahmed Nael beat Amir Mazari/Hyugo Sawada 6-1, 6-4. In the girls’ doubles first round, Polina Kaibekova/Deren Ozel beat Fatima Ali Raja/Zainab Ali Raja 6-1, 6-0 and Janvi Asawa/Neha Krishnan beat Zhansaya Bakytzhan/Melissa Jangarasheva 6-3, 6-4.
