At least 17 people were killed and another six seriously injured after a passenger bus collided with a cement tanker truck in east China's Jiangsu province, local media reported on Sunday. The incident occurred on Saturday morning on the highway between Hefei, the capital of the eastern Anhui province and Nanjing, the capital of the neighboring Jiangsu province when the area was shrouded in thick fog, the media said. The collision caused the truck to catch fire before rolling off the roadbed and crashing on the coach, the media said. The passenger coach bus carrying 53 people, exceeding its capacity of 47, the media said, citing local officials. As many as 23 injured passengers were transported to hospital, including six who were seriously injured, the media said.
