LAHORE - A college girl committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills over some domestic dispute in Shahdra area, police said on Saturday. Police investigators said 20-year-old Ayesha, daughter of Muhammad Sarwar, took poisonous after exchanging harsh words with her younger sister at their residence situated in Shahdra police limit. Ayesha was a student of FA at a local college. The deceaseds family told the police that as she arrived from college, she exchanged harsh words with her sister. She got infuriated at and swallowed poisonous pills. She was rushed to nearby hospital but she died in the way. The police handed over the body to the deceaseds family without autopsy. Rape victim hospitalised Unidentified car-riders fled away after throwing a 22-year-old girl at a footpath here in South Cantonment area, police said on Saturday. Investigators believed that unidentified men kidnapped the girl, raped her and later fled away after throwing her at a footpath, as she was unconscious. Some passersby spotted the girl and informed the police. The girl, yet to be identified so far and clad in blue colour dress, was lying unconscious as we reached the spot, a police investigator said, adding she was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. A police official, when contacted, said they would be able to establish the facts after the girl would come to her senses. Further investigations were underway.
