LAHORE Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan says US drone attacks in Northern Waziristan amount to aggression, against which the government should react like it had done when NATO helicopters had targeted the security check-posts. In a statement here on Saturday, he said the frequency of the drone attacks had increased because of the rulers cowardice. He said in case the attacks were not resisted, the so-called war on terror would spread across the country. Munawar Hasan was critical of the appointment of a PPP jiyala as the NAB chairman. It was an arbitrary and undemocratic decision, taken to annoy the parliament and parties represented there, he said. He said it was regrettable that the government did not bother even to take its allies into confidence before taking the decision. JI chief said the rulers had broken all records of corruption. The utility bills of people were going up, which the consumers were finding difficult to pay. However, the assets of the rulers were multiplying. He called for an investigation to ascertain how and why the legislators were getting so rich so quickly.
