At least four members of a family were shot dead and three others injured over land dispute in Rani Pur area of Khairpur on late Sunday night. According to reports, some armed men entered home of Qadir Bakhsh Narija and opened indiscriminate fire at the family, killing four persons at the spot and injuring three others. The deceased were identified as Qadir Bakhshs wife Marvi, his minor daughter Rozina, Sohnu and Sadarudin. The assailants managed to flee from the crime scene. Neighbours said that the incident was the result of old enmity over land dispute which continued between Narija and Jatoi tribes for many years. The dead bodies and the injured were rushed to hospital for medico-legal formalities.
