BAHAWALNAGAR - A man was shot dead by bandits when he put up resistance during a dacoity here in Khichiwala early Sunday morning. According to detail, four bandits stormed into the house of Zubair, a resident of 176/7R situated in the remit of Khichiwala Police early in the morning. They looted gold ornaments weighing 45 tolas, hundreds of thousands of rupees and other valuables. Meanwhile, Zubair offered resistance but fell victim to bandits' firing. He died on the spot. It has been learnt that Zubair had retuned back from from Saudi Arabia recently. The bandits made off with the loot immediately. The Khichiwala Police rushed to the spot upon getting information and started investigation. FARMER SHOT DEAD: A farmer was killed by unidentified accused here in the Chishtian Saddar Police precincts on Sunday. As per detail, two farmers - Liaquat Ali and Asghar, residents of Chak Gajyani were on their way to fields early in the morning. Meanwhile, all of sudden two unidentified accused appeared from cotton fields. At which Asghar raised alarms which infuriated the accused who opened fire at him. He sustained a bullet in the head and could survive. The Chistian Saddar Police registered a murder case on the complaint of deceased's brother Yasin.
