LAHORE Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday said there was a need to get rid of Ali Baba and his gang of forty thieves for saving the country, as they were looting the national resources ruthlessly. Addressing a seminar in connection with the dengue awareness campaign at Punjab Social Security Health Management Company Hospital in Manga, near here, the Chief Minister said: The people should get ready to recover the looted money from the rulers. He said that had the rulers not feathered their own nest and indulged in corruption in rental power plants the country would not have been plunged in darkness. He said that all out measures are being taken for eradication of dengue virus and the efforts in this regard will soon succeed. He said that due to wrong policies of federal government energy crises has left a deep negative impact on the countrys economy and compared to the last year load-shedding is more intense this year which has not only aggravated the problems of dengue patients but costly machinery has also been damaged. He said that had the outstanding amount of 130 billion rupees been paid to the power generation and fuel companies, the life of people would not have become so miserable due to load-shedding. He said that criminal negligence was also shown towards Nandipur and Chichokimalian projects and had these projects been completed on time people would not have faced such problems due to shortage of energy. Moreover, the Chief Minister while presiding over a meeting held to review the steps taken for eradication of dengue virus said that a vigorous campaign for eradication of dengue mosquito and larva is going on. He said tthe process of fogging and spray at godowns of old tyres, bus stands, railway stations, graveyards, parks and other places has been accelerated. He said that entire government machinery has been fully mobilized for coping with the challenge of dengue virus. He said that elected representatives, officers and experts are working with the spirit of public service in the drive against dengue and through such passion, other challenges being faced by the country can also be overcome. He said that according to the survey reports of the experts, godowns of old tyres and tyres placed at the open areas are the hot spots of breeding of larva of dengue mosquito, therefore, special attention should be paid to the spray and fogging on these places. He said that the working efficiency of government hospitals have been enhanced by providing additional staff and machinery. He said that the field hospitals set up on temporary basis are also providing treatment facilities to the dengue patients. Shahbaz Sharif said under the Qadam Barhao-Dengue Makao campaign, citizens were being informed about preventive measures and saving from dengue by creating awareness through seminars, discussions, literature and CDs based on informative material. The Chief Minister also paid a surprise visit to Shaikh Zayed Hospital. He went to various wards and enquired from the patients about the treatment facilities. He also visited Dengue Ward and enquired after the dengue patients individually and prayed for their early recovery. He directed the hospital administration to ensure provision of best medical facilities to the patients and further improve the arrangements. He declared the allocation of 20 beds for dengue patients insufficient and directed to increase their number to 50. He also enquired after Member National Assembly Baleegh-ur-Rehman in Shaikh Zayed Hospital. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister in a condolence message has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of mother of Speaker Balochistan Assembly Aslam Bhotani. He prayed that May Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude. In another condolence message the Chief Minister Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of brother-in-law of Leader of the Opposition Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan. He prayed that May Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude. In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said that the services of Manzoor Sajid in the field of literature will be remembered for a long time.
