BAHAWALPUR -Bahawalpur police claimed to have arrested nine members of a banned organisation during a raid in Abbas Nagar.

According to the police, the arrested men were wanted in terrorism, bank robberies and other cases. The police also recovered weapons from their possession.

Police Check-post Laal Sohanra In-charge Muhammad Afzal, ASI Jaam Abdul Majeed and ASI Ali Akbar had established a picket along with the police force and were checking every vehicle there. Meanwhile, a a red-colour double cabin truck approached. The cops stopped them and ask them to step out and let the police check the vehicle on which they offered resistance.

The police surrounded the vehicle and recovered 3 rifles and one pistol arrested Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Abubakar, Muhammad Attaullah, Faisal Akhtar, Shahzad Anwar, Abdul Hafeez, Muhammad Abdullah, Muhammad Matloob and Zaheeuddin. As per the police, the arrested persons belonged to an organisation and they were between 24 to 30 years of age.
