More buses to hit Lahore roads

LAHORE: The Lahore Transport Company chairman on Wednesday said that the company will soon bring more buses at routes of Lahore.
“New fleet of buses will bring further improvement in transportation system of Lahore. The LTC is currently plying more than 450 buses on various urban routes,” LTC Chairman Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan said after signing ceremony with Pak-Turkish Businessmen Association at Chief Minister Secretariat.
He lauded the Turk businessmen for bringing huge investment in various projects of mutual interest which he said reflected the strong ties between the two countries.
PTBA General Secretary Taner Kocyigit, PTBA chairman Sahir Rasheed, LTC CEO Khawaja Haider Latif, CFO Maryam Khawar were also present on occasion. Khawaja Hassan said the agreement would bring far reaching effects underlying foreign direct investment in Punjab that will unleash new corridors of business opportunities.
The financial model of LTC for bringing new buses of high quality will be shared with the prospective foreign investors. Khawaja said the Punjab government also retained desire to bring more new buses in other cities of Punjab including Multan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Bahawalpur, etc.
Sahir Rasheed and Taner kocyigit from PTBA also expressed his views that this memorandum of understanding with Lahore Transport Company will enable us to work together by sharing qualitative and reliable informative data comprising project specific reports, identification of prospective investors in order to facilitate each side by keeping in view the needs of people.–Staff Reporter
