LAHORE - A lawyer yesterday locked a judge in courtroom over refusal to judgment in his client’s favour.
Advocate Nadeem Zia Butt appeared before Model Town Civil Judge Iftikhar Hussain and forced him to announce the decision of in the favour of his client in a civil matter. However, the judge’s refusal angered the lawyer who locked the courtroom and detained the judge. Taking notice, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik reached the Model Town court and got the judge freed.
The chief justice constituted a committee, comprising senior lawyers and an LHC judge, to hold inquiry. The CJ said stern action would be taken over the issue.
