LAHORE - Rizwan brothers, Hussnain Ali, Haider Ali and Hamza Ali, finished the Bahrain tour on a high note as they earned 2 gold medals, one silver and one bronze in the ATF Bahrain Tennis Championship 2021, which concluded in Bahrain on Saturday.
According to Rizwan Yousaf, father of Rizwan brothers, the rising tennis stars played well against the international opponents and not only beat them in crucial matches but also won medals in the prestigious event and held Pakistani flag aloft in Bahrain. First Hussnain Ali Rizwan and Haider Ali Rizwan, brilliant students of LGS Paragon, grabbed gold medals in the doubles event by beating the Pak-Egyptian pair in the final.
With the loss in the doubles final, Pakistan’s Hamza Ali Rizwan, along with Egypt’s Ahmed Ibrahim, claimed silver medal. Hussnain Ali Rizwan then won the bronze medal when he defeated Raed Rizvie of Sri Lanka 4-1, 4-0. The performance of Rizwan brothers was widely lauded by international players, local administrators as well as Pakistani community settled in Bahrain.
A Pakistani family led by Kashif Yaqoob settles in Bahrain especially came to witness the enthralling matches of Rizwan brothers and appreciated their game, skills and talent. They termed them an asset for the country, who, if provided proper facilities and regular support by government and corporate sector, can win more international laurels for Pakistan and also represent the country in ATP and grand slam events.
Meanwhile, another good news was witnessed during the event when Pakistani-born England player Issa Ali overpowered India’s Rushkesh Sonawane 6-4, 6-2 in the final to win gold medal while the Indian received the silver medal. All the players present on the occasion thanked the organizers for conducting the event in professional and befitting manner and hoped that they would like to come again to play more ATF events at this beautiful venue.
