LAHORE - The City remained in the grip of muggy weather on Tuesday with experts predicting the prevailing harsh conditions to persist during the next couple of days.

Lack of rains, winds and abundance of sunshine caused considerable increase in temperature during the day and at nighttime with high humidity making the weather muggy, causing Lahorites to sweat profusely.

On Tuesday, maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 35 degree Celsius and 24 C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 58 per cent.

According to the experts, well marked low pressure area persists over west Madhya Pradesh (India) and adjoining east Rajasthan. Seasonal low lies over north Baluchistan and adjoining areas. Weak monsoon currents are penetrating into upper parts of the country and Sindh. A westerly wave is also prevailing over upper parts of the country.

The local meteorological department has forecast mainly hot and humid weather for most parts of the country including Lahore during the next couple of days.
