LAHORE (PR): The government and all sections of society should come forward to rescue the victims of rampage of floods to ease their suffering over this calamity. Electricity management should take emergent measures to check menace of fatal and non-fatal accidents causing tragic deaths of 26 members of line staff within two months due to electrocution at work place on account of unsafe working conditions and ensure safe working conditions to them.

These demands were raised in a large meeting of Wapda/electricity workers held at Bakhtiar Labour Hall on Tuesday under the aegis of All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union CBA, which was presided over by veteran trade union leader Khurshid Ahmed, general secretary of the Union. The meeting was attended by hundreds of trade union representatives and workers and was also addressed by Haji Muhammad Younus, Sardar Fasih, Sajid Kazmi, Rana Muhammad Akram, Rana Abdul Shakoor and others.
