ISLAMABAD - KRL thrashed Islamabad by 10 wickets in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Four-Day 2018-19 round two Group-A match here at Diamond Ground on Sunday.
KRL achieved the 30-run target without losing a wicket. Earlier in their first innings, KRL scored 176 all out, thus took 88-run first innings lead. Islamabad were bundled out for 118 in their second innings. It was once again tail-ender Shahzad Azam Rana, who saved the blushes of Islamabad with 27 runs. Ali Shafiq grabbed 5-42 and Sadaf Hussain 3-37.
At KRL ground, Peshawar Region required another 139 runs for victory against HBL. Peshawar finished day two at 19-1. Earlier, Peshawar resumed their first innings at overnight score of 28-1 and were all out for 193, thus conceded 35 runs first innings lead. Israrullah slammed 74. Agha Salman captured 4-15, Abdul Rehman 3-75 and Saad Khan 2-7. The second innings of HBL was folded at only 122. Imran Farhat made 23 and Umar Akmal 20. Sajid Khan bagged 3-25, Taj Wali 3-48 and Zahid Mahmood 2-16.
At Abbottabad Stadium, Fata finished day two at 144-3. Earlier, SNGPL resumed their first innings at overnight score of 322-5 and declared their innings at 461-8. Iftikhar Ahmed hammered 145 and Imran Butt 111. Adnan Ghaus clinched 4-113. AT LCCA Ground, Lahore Region Whites scored 18-3. Earlier, NBP were all out for 273 with Ali Asad hitting 103. M Irfan claimed 5-80 and Babar Rehman 2-66.
In Pool-B match at National Stadium Karachi, SSGCL made 276-4 against Karachi Whites with Awais Zia thwarting 108. Waleed Ahmed bagged 3-74. Earlier, Karachi resumed their first innings at overnight score of 329-8 and were all out for 338. M Hasan made 125 and Khurram Manzoor 108. Kashif Bhatti took 3-78, Ahmed Jamal 2-95 and Zia-ul-Haq 2-49.
At Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi required further 82 runs for victory against ZTBL with 8 wickets in hand. Chasing 140 runs for victory, Rawalpindi scored 48-2 at the close of play. Earlier, ZTBL were bowled out for 71 in their second innings with M Aamir hitting 25. Syed Touseeq Shah clinched 4-15, Haseeb Azam 3-21 and Saad Altaf 3-33.
At Multan Cricket Stadium, Wapda was in firm position against Multan, as they finished day two at 156-1 with Salman Butt scoring 68. Earlier, Multan were all out for 290 in their first innings.
Imran Rafiq made 65 and Usman Liaqat 43. Waqas Maqsood took 3-39 and Waqar Malik 3-46. At Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad, Lahore Region Whites were firmly placed against PTV, as they finished day two at 182-5. Zafar Gohar was unbeaten at 67. Tabish Khan bagged 4-34.
