Pak-Saudi JWG meeting held

ISLAMABAD (PR): Pak-Saudi Joint Working Group on Trade & Investment was constituted in the 11th Session of Pak-Saudi Joint Ministerial Commission held in Islamabad, with a view to enhancing bilateral economic cooperation through identifying concrete & specific areas in trade and investment.

Second meeting of the JWG was held at Islamabad on 5th September, 2018. Mohammad Younus Dagha, Federal Secretary Commerce, Pakistan and Abdulrahman Alharbi, Deputy Minister for Foreign Trade, Saudi Arabia co-chaired the session. Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliki, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, officials from Saudi Ministries of Commerce and Investment, Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, SABIC, Maaden and officials from Ministries of Commerce, Energy and National Food Security, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and Board of Investment participated in the meeting.

Mohammad Younus Dagha, Federal Secretary Commerce, emphasized that Government of Pakistan desires that the long and historic relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia should be translated into enhanced economic partnership. He invited Saudi government and private sector to invest in Oil Refining, Petro chemicals and food processing industry in Pakistan.

After the official discussions, Petroleum Division, and leading private sector companies presented their project proposals. The follow up of first JWG meeting was also discussed to resolve non- tariff barriers, facilitating business visas, and logistic arrangements of Pakistan Single Country Exhibition in Jeddah as well as activating Joint Business Council.

Abdulrahman Alharbi, Deputy Minister for Foreign Trade, Saudi Arabia elaborated that the Kingdom desires to have close economic partnership with Pakistan and the two countries could cooperate and have joint ventures in petro chemicals,food processingand other sectors.

The Saudi delegation also comprised of six businessmen from petro-chemical and food sectors. Their B2B meetings were arranged with Pakistani companies from meat, poultry, fruits and vegetables, rice and petrochemical sectors on 6th September 2018.The companies presented details of their meat and food processingplant which meet Saudi standards and have been registered by Saudi Food and Drug Agency. The Saudi side expressed keen interest in the investment projects and trade proposals and the two sides agreed to take further steps expeditiously to materialize these proposals.

Hundreds of students throng Australian Edu Expo

KARACHI (PR): AEO Pakistan; Australian & Global Education Specialists and IELTS Official Test Centre, has been conducting Australian Education Expos since 2002, providing a perfect opportunity to Pakistani students seeking to Study in Australia. They appreciated AEO's effort in provision of an ideal platform offering Free counselling sessions with official representatives of international universities to explore the options of enrolling for a degree of their choice.

The next expo of the series is scheduled to be held in Multan, Peshawar, Bahawalpur. Entry to the exhibition is free.

SZABIST hosts Alumni Reunion 2018

KARACHI (PR): The Karachi SZABIST Executive Development Center (EDC), hosted an Alumni Reunion, at the Karachi Arts Council.

The event comprised of Anwar Maqsood's play "Kyun Nikala" followed by an Alumni Dinner. The graduates of 1997 - 2017 were invited to the event. This event was attended by the SZABIST management, the alumni, faculty and staff. The event opened with a welcome speech by Manager EDC, Hajra Arif, who thanked the organizers and introduced the play "Kyun Nikala". The one and a half hour play was followed by the President of SZABIST, Shehnaz Wazir Ali's address.

Wazir Ali, in her speech, emphasized on the importance of association with the alma mater and highlighted the achievements of SZABIST over the years. Overall, the event turned out to be a successful initiative and provided an ideal opportunity for networking and extending personal bonds.

Honda Atlas launches training programme

LAHORE (PR): Honda Atlas Power Products and Nizarnuddin Faridul Haq group have jointly launched "SS" the second series of the Honda's Nationwide Technical Service Training Programme.

5S is the one the five pillars "Seiri" (Japanese word means Putting things in order), "Sefton" (Japanese word means Tidying up), "Selso" (Japanese word means Cleaning), "Seikestu" (Japanese word means Cleanliness) & "Shitsuke" (Japanese word means Discipline), a management concept implemented by the Japanese nation that made them become one of the gigantic economic powers of the world. The camps will be led by Kenji Tokuta from F londa Motor Co., Ltd, Japan.  Tokuta is a seasoned trainer and has decades of applied experience on the Honda general purpose engines & power products.

This unique format of training is being organized free-of-charge with the prime motive of uplifting the general skills of the technical staff related to sports fields, particularly the Cricket Grounds at school/university, clubs, and international level in Pakistan. The same shall also cover landscaping sites including municipalities and public parks. The team of foreign & local trainers shall keep training camps at the users' sites in order to deliver hands on training to their own equipment. This shall not only cover the technical modules, but also the troubleshooting and effective operating of the modem machinery that they already possess.
