An existential threat

The government has, at long last, decided to formulate an integrated national security policy and also decided to form a special anti-terrorism force to curb terrorism. No doubt the challenge is very grave. But people are really frightened and perturbed all over Pakistan. Terrorism is now threatening the very survival of the country and people's morale is on the lowest ebb at present. This will have a very damaging effect on the national out put of wealth. Holding of meetings, committee room discussions, making of resolutions, writing orders on files and merely talking of recruiting special trainees just won't do for rulers this time. Instead of these cosmetics, they will have to come up with a well worked-out, result-oriented plan to counter this existential threat to the integrity of Pakistan. -F.D.
