LAHORE - Inspector General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar demoted DSP Tanveer Ahmed Malik (Ex-SDPO City DG Khan) to the rank of Inspector for two years. The decision was taken after the charges of misconduct and inefficiency were proved against the above mentioned DSP. As per details Mr Mehboob Rasheed, the then DPO Muzaffargarh, had been appointed Enquiry Officer to investigate the charges of poor performance, inefficiency, lack of supervision and misconduct against the DSP. The Inquiry Officer in his report held the said DSP guilty and recommended strict disciplinary action against him. Afterwards the above mentioned DSP was given show cause notice. He appeared in the orderly room and was heard in person, but he could not give satisfactory explanation in his defense. On proving the charges of misconduct and inefficiency, the IGP awarded him major punishment of reduction in rank from DSP to Inspector for two years with immediate effect. Tariq Saleem Dogar has also maintained that strict action would be taken against such police officers/officials who were found involved in any kind of misconduct, corruption and negligence of duties. Exhibition The Lahore Arts Council will organise 6th Annual Exhibition of Paintings, Sculpture, Ceramics and Graphics at Alhamra Art Gallery on Monday (tomorrow). The works of young artists will be displaced while Principal National College of Arts Naazish Atta Ullah will inaugurate the ceremony at 5:30pm.
