Sindh shows concern over paras deletion

KARACHI - The Sindh government has apprised President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani about its reservations over the text of the NFC Award in which important paras relating to distribution of resources on multiple criteria and provinces rights to collect GST on Services have been deleted. Talking to media at the end of the Sindh Investment Conference held at local hotel on Saturday, Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah claimed that President, PM and Federal Advisor on Finance have conceded Sindhs apprehensions and promised to incorporate the important paras which were part of the NFC document and signed in presence of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani at Gawadar Port. The Sindh government has also wrote a letter to federal government and protested over the deleting of the important paras which were amicably resolved and signed between the federating units and Islamabad. The finance department also took up the matter with the Finance Ministry and demanded for incorporating original contents of NFC Award. All the coalition partners, PPP, MQM, PML-F and NPP have same views over the NFC issues and demanded for inquiry into matter against the officials of the finance ministry. But, Sindh Chief Minister was confident during briefing with the journalists, and said that all the contents missing in NFC document signed by the President, would be incorporated again. He said that another Presidential order would be issued within two days in this regard. Meanwhile, Advisor to Chief Minister for Planning and Development Department Kaisar Bengali, who represented the Sindh in NFC, told The Nation that NFC issue has been not resolved so far. Till seeing the contents of new order of NFC Award, the Sindh government will not satisfied. Sindh has pursuing the matter with the federal government.
