LAHORE – Police on Tuesday night gunned down a 14-year-old motorcyclist as he refused to stop on their signal. The incident took place in Missri Shah area and sparked a massive protest by the victim’s family, relatives and neighbors.
According to the details, Raju, a resident of the same area, was on his way home when the cops, deployed at a picket, signaled him to stop for checking. Raju, claimed the protesters, did not stop because of the fear of police.
The police, however, were divided on the issue. They were not sure about the number of the bike riders. Sources in the Missri Shah police also admitted that the boy’s murder was a major fault on their part.
