PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that the teachings of Hazrat Essa (AS) were based on peace, love, brotherhood and non-violence adding that the provincial government was making peace efforts and countering terrorism by following the teachings of Hazrat Essa (AS).

Acting upon the teachings of Hazrat Essa (AS) was need of the hour for getting rid of the present critical situation, he said.

This he stated while addressing a function on the eve of Easter celebrations at Nishtar Hall Peshawar. Minority MPA Asif Bhatti and Bishop Arnast Jacob also addressed on the occasion.

Mian Iftikhar maintained that the status and place of Hazrat Essa (AS) as a human being was very high, as he was the Prophet of Allah.

The Information Minister while congratulating the Christian community on the eve of Easter, said, it was his utmost desire that there should be joy and happiness but unfortunately we are facing international terrorism on this land for the last 30 years and the terrorists are engaged in bloodshed of the innocent people, he continued. Despite that, he said, on the eve of this day, if the terrorists stop bloodshed and admit the writ of the government, he is ready for talks with them and pardon the killers of his only son for the cause of this land.

He continued that he was not afraid of death and would fight for the elimination of terrorism from the region. He would prefer to death but never compromise on interests of this land and its people, he concluded.
