JSQM announces Sindh-wide strike

LARKANA - The Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz has announced province-wide shutter down and wheel jam strike against the government and concerned health authorities over their failure in conducting medical examination of JSQM Chief Bashir Qureshi from the reputable laboratories.A JSQM meeting expressed its dissatisfaction over the government’s steps to conduct the medical examination from Civil Hospital Karachi instead of Agha Khan Laboratory. Vice Chairman Dr Niaz Kalani and Maqsood Qureshi, the brother of Bashir Khan Qureshi, termed the death of the JSQM chief a well organised conspiracy. They said demanded that the UN should help in this regard to conduct chemical tests from well recognised laboratories. They further said that the JSQM chairman was not an ordinary man but a hero of 50 million Sindhi people, while the health department is using delaying tactics in connection with medical examination of his samples. Meanwhile, a large number of JSQM leaders and workers staged a sit-in at Jinah Bagh Chowk against the government and poor cooperation of health department officials. They wore black bandages on their arms and were carrying banners and placards. They also shouted slogans demanding the government to conduct independent inquiry into the sudden death of Bashir Qureshi. Meanwhile, Sindh Minister for Law and Prisons Muhammad Ayaz Soomro visited the residence of late Bashir Khan Qureshi at Ratodero to offer fateha. He expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the death of the JSQM leader. He also directed the health department officials for a close coordination and cooperation regarding the samples test of the leader. He said he would discuss the issue with the Sindh chief minister. He also paid a rich tribute to the late leader for his courageous struggle for the people of Sindh.
