LAHORE - Ushna Suhail reached the International Women's Tennis Tournament doubles quarterfinals being held in Fujairah UAE, according to information made available here on Tuesday.
Ushna with her Indian partner Sharon Sanchana Paul defeated Tyra Kotuwattegedera (Swiss) and Sofia Sabjarevic (Serbian) in straight sets 6-2, 7-6 (7-4).
In the first set, the pair got 2-0 lead and then went on to win the set by 6-2. In the second set, the Indo-Pak pair started from they left but the Swiss-Serbian pair level at five all. The Swiss-Serbian pair held their serve at 5-5 to take a 6-5 lead. In the next game, Ushna and her partner also held serve to make it 6-6 and won the set in tie-breaker 7-6 (7-3).
