MALAKAND - A literacy walk was held on Tuesday which was arranged by the Elementary and Secondary Education Malakand at Dargai.

The Deputy District Officer (DDO) Elementary and Secondary Education Department Tehsil Dargai Muhammad Husain Khan, ADDO Said Zamin Shah, NCHD Malakand General Manager Saifullah, Coordinator NCHD Dargai Pir Shah Khalid and more than 60 teachers of elementary schools at Dargai participated in the walk to mark the New Admissions Campaign.

The participants of the walk raised the banners and placards with slogans requesting the parents to admit their children of age 5, in schools. CRC Malakand Coordinator Syed Abdullah, Sher Nawab Khatak and Naseemullah Advocate also attended the walk and function earlier held in the Government Primary School No. 2, Dargai to encourage students enrolment in government schools.

Addressing the function, DDO Elementary and Secondary Education Dargai Muhammad Husain Khan, ADDO Said Zamin shah, NCHD GM Malakand Saifullah Khan, Pir shah Khalid and others stressed on the community members, parents and social workers to enroll maximum number of students in schools.

They said that the government is providing free textbooks and Education Department Malakand with the collaboration of UNECEF and Human Development Organization (HDOD) is arranging free bags and sports materials, so that schools could be made attractive place for children to get education. The participants vowed to work for the increase of 30% in government schools in Malakand this year.
