RAWALPINDI Residents of street No one, Rehmani Majid Union Council, have strongly protested against non-supply of water to their area. “This is one of the most crowded streets of the area but it stands deprived of the most important facility of water supply. We have been paying all taxes but in return we have been meted out step motherly treatment by not supplying the water, said a group of residents.

We have to fetch drinking water from remote areas on our bikes or taxis and major chunk of our income is spent on this essential necessity of life this way, said Jamil Ahmad, a schoolteacher. We cannot wash our clothes and even cook due to non-supply of water, said a group of housewives. We have met Wasa authorities and sent countless applications for restoration of water supply but all our efforts seem to have fallen on deaf ears, said Jan Mohammad, a government employee. “We will be forced to hold protest demonstrations if water supply is not ensured soon, said the residents.
