JI demands revival of old course of 9th class

PESHAWAR - Opposing the changes in the class 9th syllabus, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has demanding of the government to immediate revive the old course and shun anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan policies.
Addressing a press conference here at press club on Wednesday, JI Chairman Standing Committee on Education Mirajuddin Khan said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board had made certain changes in the syllabus for grade 9th of English and Islamiate courses.
Flanked by the party local leaders and workers, he said a syllabus had a very important role in protection of the ideological and geographical boundaries of the country.
He said that the moral teaching and safeguarding of creed was only possible through implementation of education syllabus.
The JI leader informed that the former ANP-led coalition government had brought changes in the Islamiate, English and Physics books on the behest of the United States in the past but revered its decision after the JI protest on the issue.
He said now the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker government had again taken the step by removing certain chapters regarding the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Khilafat from the English book of grade ninth.
“We will not tolerate to keep our generation ignorant from Islamic teachings by playing such tactics,” he warned.
The JI will observe a severe protest against this un-Islamic steps of the government on March 14 in Peshawar.
He demanded of the caretaker government to immediately revive the old syllabus otherwise they would launch an agitation campaign with the support of Ulema across the province.
