PPP old faces to contest Sindh constituencies

KARACHI - The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Wednesday unveiled almost same faces as its candidates for the National Assembly and Provincial Assembly seats of Sindh for the upcoming elections.
PPP Sindh President and former Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah while addressing a Press conference at the residence of party’s central Deputy Information Secretary Sharjeel Inam Memon announced the names of the candidates.
PPP Sindh General Secretary Taj Haider, Waqar Mehdi and others were present on the occasion.
Awarding the party tickets to almost same faces to go for elections in Sindh, Qaim Ali Shah said that the names of the candidates have been withheld in some constituencies, where objections were being heard in the appellate tribunals of Sindh High Court against them.
Party announced 117 candidates of total 130 general seats of Sindh Assembly and 58 candidates of total 61 National Assembly seats of Sindh.
The PPP has awarded the party ticket to the same candidates on National Assembly seats in Sukkur district which include NA-198 Sukkur -I Nauman Islam Shaikh and NA-199 Sukkur cum-Shikarpur (II) to former Federal Minister and party’s senior leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah.
While three of two candidates were repeated on the Provincial Assembly seats in Sukkur, which include PS-1 Sukkur-Anwar Ahmed Khan Mahar, PS-2 Syed Nasir Ali Shah, on PS-3 Sukkur Jam Ikramullah Dharejo and on PS-4 Syed Awais Shah.
Meanwhile, PPP has not awarded ticket to former Provincial Minister Jam Saifullah Dharejo.
Of two National Assembly seats, party has re-launched Khalid Ahmed Lund on NA-200 Ghotki-I, while Sardar Ali Gohar Khan Mahar, who recently joined the PPP, would be party’s candidate on NA-201-Ghotki-2.
On three Provincial Assembly constituencies of the Ghotki district, the PPP has re-awarded the party tickets to Mehtab Hussain Dahar PS-5 Ghotki I, former Sindh Chief Minister Ali Muhammad Mahar on PS-6, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar on PS-8 Ghotki, while Sardar Ahmed Ali Khan Pitafi is repeated on PS-7 Ghotki III by PPP.
In Shikapur district, the PPP has re-awarded the party ticket to party’s senior leader and former Federal Minister Aftab Shaaban Mirani on NA-202 Shikarpur, while on NA-203, Sardar Wahid Bux Bhio would be party’s candidate against the PML-F’s Ghous Bux Mahar.
On provincial seats of Shikarpur, Sardar Babul Bhayo on PS-12 Shikarpur-II, Kamran Mahar or Abid Bhayo on PS-10 Shikarpur, while Agha Taimoor Khan Pathan would repeat on PS-11 Shikarpur-IV and President Zardari’s close aide and former Local Government Minister Siraj Khan Durrani on PS-9 Shikarpur.
In Bhutto’s home district Larkana, PPP has awarded ticket to former Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro on Larkana NA-204, while Nazir Ahmed Bughio is repeated on NA-205 Larkana-cum-Kamber Shahdadkot.
On NA-206 Kamber Shahdadkot Mir Amir Ali Khan Magsi is repeated in next elections, on NA-206 Mir Amir Magsi, while President Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur would contest from NA-207 Larkana-Kamber Shahdadkot constituency.
While provincial seats of the Larkana district, the party has again awarded ticket to Aziz Ahmed Jatoi on PS-41 Larkana cum Kamber Shahdadkot, on PS -35 Larkana-1-Haji Altaf Unar, who recently joined the PPP, on PS-37 Larkana-III Muhammad Ali Bhutto, on PS-38 Khurshid Ahmed Junejo and PS-36 Sindh Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro.
For the first time, Munawar Ali Abbasi has not accepted the ticket of party, so he alongwith his younger brother Safdar Abbasi is contesting election as independent candidate in Larkana.
In Jacobabad, on NA-208 Jacobabad-party has again awarder ticket to Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, while former Federal Minister Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani or his son Mir Shabbir Khan Bijarani would be PPP candidate on NA-209 Jacobabad.
In Kashmore district, the party has awarded ticket to Mir Ehsan Rehman Sundrani (nominee of Saleem Jan Mazari) on NA-210-Kashmore-Kandhkot. 
On provincial seats of Jacobabad, the PPP has awarded ticket to Mumtaz Jakhrani on PS-13-Garhi Khero, on PS-14 Jacobabad II Sardar Muqeem Khoso, on PS-15 Dr Suhrab Sarki, while Mir Mehboob Ali Khan Bijarani would repeat on PS-16-Jacoabad, PS-17 Mir Abid Sundrani and on PS-18 Abdul Rauf Khoso.
In Naushehro Feroze district, PPP’s Zulfiqar Ali will contest election on NA-211 Naushero Feroze-I against NPP chief Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi, while party has fielded Syed Asghar Ali Shah on NA-212-Naushehro Feroze against Syed Zafar Ali Shah of PML-N and other candidate of NPP.
On Provincial Assembly seats of Naushehro Feroze, PPP awarded ticket to Mumtaz Chandio on PS-19, Syed Murad Ali Shah on PS-20 Naushehro Feroze II, PS-21 Naushehro Feroze III Sarfaraz Hussain Shah, PS-22 Naushehro Feroze IV Abdul Sattar Rajper and Sikandar Korai would contest election on party ticket on PS-23 Naushehro Feroze-V.
In Nawabshah-home district of President Asif Ali Zardari, the PPP has again fielded President Zardari’s elder sister Dr Azra Fazal Pecheho on NA-213 Nawabshah, and NA-214 Nawabshah-II Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah. 
While on provincial seats of Nawabshah (Shaheed Benazirabad), PS-24 Nawabshah I Tariq Masood Arain, on PS-25 Nawabshah II Saleem Jalbani, on PS-26 Nawabshah III Faseeh Ahmed Shah, PS-27 Nawabshah IV Ghulam Qadir Chandio and on PS-28 Nawabshah V Bohadar Ali Dahri would be PPP’s candidates.
The PPP has not awarded ticket to the former chief of Sindh Accounts Committee Sardar Jam Tamachi Unar, while Zardari has given ticket to the Bohadar Dahri, who always fought elections against PPP. 
In Qaim Ali Shah’s home district Khairpur, the PPP has re-awarded ticket to Nawab Ali Wassan on NA-215 Khairpur-I and Sajid Banbhan on NA-216 Khairpur-II.
While, party has not decided candidate on the NA-217 Khairpur-III as it is expected that the Qaim Ali Shah himself or his daughter Nafisa would contest on this constituency.
On provincial seats of the Khairpur district, the PPP again awarded ticket to former Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan on PS-32 Khairpur IV, Qaim Ali Shah himself would contest election on PS-29-Khairpur, on PS-30 Khairpur II again Muhammad Bachal Shah, on PS-31 Khairpur III Wahid Ali Banbhan, Syed Fazul Shah or Pir Ahmed Raza Shah on PS-33 Khairpur, while on PS-34 Khairpur VI Naeem Ahmed Kharal would be party’s candidate in next elections.
PPP Parliamentarian’s chief and former Federal Minister Makhdoom Muhammad Amin Fahim would be party’s candidate on NA-218 Matiari-cum-Hyderabad, Ali Muhammad Sahto would party’s candidate on NA-219 Hyderabad-I.
However, Sagheer Ahmed Qureshi would contest on NA-220 Hyderabad-II, while Ali Mir Shah Jamote would contest on NA-221 Hyderabad. 
PS-43 Matiari (old Hyderabad I) Makhdoom Amin Fahim’s son Makhdoom Jameeluzzaman, on PS-44 Matiari Cum Hyderabad (old Hyderabd II) Makhdoom Amin Fahim’s brother Makhdoom Rafiquzaman would contest in next election.
The PPP has fielded former Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon as its candidate on PS-50 Hyderabad VI (old Hyderabad VIII), while PPP’s own leaders are contesting election against him as they considered Memon outsider of Hyderabad.
PPP has awarder ticket to Abdul Jabbar Khan on PS-49-Hyderabad, Amanullah Syal on PS-45-Hyderabad, Babu Abdullah Qazi on PS-46-Hyederabad.
In Tando Muhammad Khan district, NA-222 Tando Muhammad Khan-cum-Hyderabad- former Federal Minister Syed Naveed Qamar, on NA-223 Tando Allahyar (Old Hyderabad-VI) Abdul Sattar Bachani, on NA-224 Badin Sardar Kamal Chang, on NA-225 Badin Speaker National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza, NA-226-Mirpurkhas-1 Pir Shafqat Shah Jillani, NA-227-Mirpurkhas-2 Mir Munawar Talpur (husband of Faryal Talpur), NA-228 Umerkot Nawab Yousaf Talpur would be party’s candidate in the next elections. 
Qaim Ali Shah said that his would win majority of the seats in the next elections from Sindh.
He also rejected the allegations of the rigging, stating that he has no role on beating of lawyer, who raised objection over his nomination papers in his constituency.
He said that party has not decided yet to award ticket to the Awais Muzaffar alias Tappi from Thatta district.
